Bishop. Upgrading from the cleric class, the bishop gains an arsenal of damage spells as well as debuff abilities. While the bishop class is not focused on healing, it is more than capable of assuming that role or one of a damage dealer.

Being the damage dealing evolution of the Cleric, the Bishop is a well balanced job that's between a healer and a damage dealing mage. Well-skilled players are able to solo even higher level monsters in dungeons because of their ability to heal and decent pool of crowd control skills. Bishops tend to be a little more fragile than Priests while having a slight edge in damage dealing and crowd control ability. Finding a dungeon party is easy as a Bishop because you can heal, or if there's a Priest/another Bishop you can just deal damage.

Highlights[edit | edit source]

Strength[edit | edit source]

  • Healing ability, High magical Damage attacks.
  • Crowd control skills with Rock Pin, Snow Slide, Divine Nova, Earth Spear and Frozen Snare.
  • High Wisdom, and Intelligence
  • Able to solo relatively well
  • Gets basic 4 buffs earlier than Priests
  • Has more levels of Acid Spray than Priest
  • Can act as a damage dealer or a healer in a pinch
  • A good class in terms of PvP; since they can heal and buff themselves and deal decent damage.
  • Abilities allow easy farming
  • Can seal adds, which is very handy
  • Can also Seal bosses, which with proper timing can be used to cancel boss skills.

Weakness[edit | edit source]

  • Weak Physical Def, and low HP (otherwise known as being 'squishy').
    • The combination of this and the relative power of some of the DD spells can result in a great deal of aggro to the Bishop; usually, a DD mage such as a Chaos Magician can override this aggro or tanks can pull it off.
  • Lack the AOE heals of Priest, and the Mass Blessings of Priest, although generally only Mass MP/HP regen and Mass Bless Weapon are used by priests.

Weapons[edit | edit source]

They should use 2-handed Staff

Staff provides higher magic damage, while mace allows a Bishop to deal somewhat-decent physical damage.

  • Bishops can also use a combo of 1-handed Staff and MageWall or Shield. The shield allows for Bishops to use the Divine Shield skill, which greatly reduces incoming damage for a few seconds. Normal shields offer a bit more survivability, while a MageWall increases Matk to lvs similar, and sometimes exceeding a 2handed staff.
  • Mace is not a viable option
