Whether you prefer the term: species, race, ethnicity, genera, phylum or simply the overused word: "type" - each mob belongs to one of several species. Since this wiki already uses several categories within Category:Mobs by Type we'll use the word species to differentiate among the following species.
- Fortunately all mobs of the same type are also of the same species and so this category contains only sub-categories and not links to individual mob articles.
- Ain

- Beasts

- Angels

- Demons

The above classification by species is significant to certain Breeder and Soul Breeder skills that provide increased resistance to damage of a certain type:
There is no obvious reason to distinguish between:
- Ain and Beast
- Angel, Demon and Spirit
- Undead and Mecca
