Asura Summoner Master Class Summoner who can freely control 2 creatures. It has better magic attack and one blow deadly shot in short distance than Battle Summoner.
The Overlord is a continuation of the Battle Summoner class. The Overlord specializes in offensive pet-related buffs and abilities. The Overlord also obtains new skills unlocked depending on which TP(Talent Point) Tree they choose to pursue. These skills can either be upgrades of previous skills or entirel new skills, including Inferno Fire Arrow (Upgraded Fire Arrow for Staff Overlords), Armageddon (Small Area of Effect stun for Staff Overlords), and Dirk Hurricane (Upgraded Dirk Tornado with stun). The first TP Tree also offers enhanced passive and active skills for pets.
Overlords currently only have two build options: Staff or Dirk + Shield. The pet choices, durability, and stone options vary depending on which weapon setup the player chooses and what role the player wishes to fulfill. Dirk + Shield Overlords typically tend to be more PvE-oriented whereas Staff Overlords can excel in farming low-medium HP mobs and also in PvP. Staff Overlords may experience Mana problems when farming high-HP mobs due to the Mana consumption of Inferno Fire Arrow and their toggles. This can be mitigated by lowering the skill level of Inferno Fire Arrow, Mana Potions + Groceries, and Creature MP Extract.
Sample Staff Overlord Build:
Int/Vit (PvE) or Wis/Vit (PvP)
Devouring or Ruthless Ethereal Equipment
2x Ice Maiden + 2x Yeti + 1x Siren + Boss Card on belt
Sample Dirk + Shield Overlord Build:
Str/Vit, Agi/Vit, or Str/Agi
Devouring or Ruthless Ethereal Equipment
Special attention is required for a Dirk + Shield Overlord concerning the attack speed plateau they wish to obtain.
Ideal stone and Ethereal builds revolve around hitting a certain amount of attack speed whereas external buffs, potions, and creature unity will fill the gap to the plateau the Overlord wishes to obtain.
2x Skeleton + 3x Hawkman/Orc + Boss Card on belt
Skeletons may be switched for Harpies depending on the amount of P.Acc needed
Certain Creature Potions and the Concentration skill can also fulfill these needs
Pet choices also highly depend on the weapon and role choices the Overlord chooses. For example, a Staff Overlord will almost always pick a ranged pet over a melee-ranged pet because the Overlord also attacks from range, so having a pet that needs to be in melee-range of the mob will not fulfill the DD Ability the Overlord desires from a pet when the pet has to manually run into melee range. There are certain exceptions to this, though.
Common Pet Choices for Staff Overlord:
Red Pixie
Siren
Harpy
Angel
Naga
Ice Maiden
White Dragon
Common Pet Choices for Dirk + Shield Overlord:
Skeleton
Yeti
Orc
Wolf
Octopus (Debuff + Life Leech)
Siren (Debuff + Kiss of the Goddess)
Salamander
Harpy
Hawkman
Kentauros
Gnoll
Cerberus
Genie
Death Tyrant
Many Overlords, Master Breeders, and Beastmasters consider certain pets to be staple pets in most formations. These pets are considered staple because they either provide a necessary function that benefits all members of the party, other pets, and the pet class such as healing/support pets, or because of the diversity of the pet itself.
Common picks in many formations include:
Harpy
The Harpy is the only pet which gets a passive for having a ranged weapon equipped. As such, the Harpy is slightly behind other pets in terms of buffs received (Since Archers possess the only Dexterity buff in game), however, are slightly ahead due to the weapon choices the passive benefits from (Longbows have the highest enchant rate of any single weapon in the game).
The Harpy is seen in many formations across all pet classes, pre and post Master Class, due to the Harpy's long range, high damage modifier on skills, and useful attack speed unity.
The Harpy is known for being useful for both Physical and Magical built pet classes.
Blue Pixie / Angel / Ifrit / Golem / Unicorn
Blue Pixies, Angels, Ifrits, Unicorns, and Golems all possess unique characteristics useful to literally every class in the game: healing. The majority of the community suggests to have at least one healing pet in your formation at all times.
Unicorn
Unicorns have received a lot of attention due to the unique skill-set it possesses. The Unicorn receives a staged skill that works as a HoT (Heal Over Time) and reduces threat/aggro generated by the target. The Unicorn also has a high-accuracy Blind skill, a normal Heal, and a toggle at Lvl 150 that increases all of the owner's base stats while decreasing the Unicorn's stats by an equal amount.
Staged Unicorns are highly valued due to the extra amount of JP used to skill a variety of skills and the staged skill.
{C Flavor Picks are pets that are either not very popular yet still fulfill a certain role or are chosen purely based on player preference.
Some Flavor Picks include:
Salamander
The usefulness of the Salamander has been long debated, dating almost back to the first introduction of the pet. The Salamander is a hybrid P.Atk/M.Atk pet that greatly benefits from both stats. The Salamander also possesses naturally high Dexterity needed to hit higher level mobs. The Salamander is often built as a glass-cannon, meaning the pet is built strictly on damage with little-to-no attention paid to the defensive attributes.
The debate on the usefulness of a Salamander is created by
The scaling on the Salamander's skills
The time needed to generate maximum damage output
The survivability of a glass-cannon pet
The staged ability of the pet
And the pet's overall damage compared to a pet of equal cost or tier
Nightmare
The Nightmare has recently seen a large amount of popularity increase due to the pet's staged skill and toggle abilities. Some members of the community speculate that the Nightmare, if built and equipped correctly, possesses the single most damaging ability of any pet in the game.
The Nightmare's staged skill is called Demonic Onslaught. This skill is a guaranteed crit with high scaling modifier on P.Atk. Combined with Exposure Awareness, a toggle that adds +30 to Cri.Power, a highly enchanted weapon with high base P.Atk and enchant scaling, critical power stones, Ethereal durability, and as many Cri.Power artifacts your Nightmare can hold, the Nightmare is capable of putting out a ridiculous amount of damage with a single skill.
Naga
The Naga is a pet that is oftentimes overlooked due to the nature of the Naga's skills. Whereas a similar M.Atk based pet like an Ice Maiden is based purely off of damage, the Naga has a high number of CC (Crowd Control) skills. The Naga also has the equivalent of an Archer's Vision of Prey, granting them vision of sight to see invisible units for a certain amount of time in a specific radius around the pet.
Nagas are oftentimes only picked for their superior CC abilities in a PvP scenario.
